August 16th – 19th  (3 nights/4 days)

Day 1: Today we begin our exciting journey to Kentucky!  There will be a stop @ the 2500 sq. foot Kentucky Artisan Center @ Berea, where you can shop for Kentucky Products, explore Kentucky crafts & arts through special exhibits & experience Kentucky hospitality.  We will arrive @ the Hampton Inn & Suites in Florence in the late afternoon, our home for the next 3 nights. Dinner will be @ a local restaurant. (D)

Day 2: After breakfast @ the hotel, we travel over to the ARK ENCOUNTER to see the full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible.  Spanning 510 ft. long, 85 feet wide and 51 ft. high, it is designed to be family oriented & historically authentic.  You will have plenty of time to walk through & explore the Ark. Lunch is included @ the buffet by the Ark.  This afternoon, our adventure continues as we visit the Newport Aquarium, which has been named one of the best aquariums in the U.S. by Travel Channel and USA Today.  Newport Aquarium displays thousands of animals from around the world in a million gallons of water with 14 galleries, 70 exhibits & 5 seamless tunnels.  You will be amazed at all there is to see & do during your afternoon at the aquarium. (B, L)

Day 3: After breakfast, we will head to Cincinnati to meet our step-on guide for a morning tour.  Our tour begins with quaint MainStrasse Village where you will learn all about the German heritage of this area and hear about the famous folk tales of the Pied Piper and The Goose Girl.  Proceeding on to Riverside Drive, you view some of the gorgeous old riverboats, Captain’s mansions and hear about the incredible tales of the Underground Railroad as well as the tragic story of the Garner’s escape.  You’ll see one of the area’s most magnificent views of the Cincinnati skyline.  Trivia and amazing tales are told about “Sin City” and its gambling past of days past in Newport.  Crossing the much-navigated Ohio River, we enter Cincinnati, Ohio.  You will visit the Basilica of the Assumption, listed among “The Most Beautiful Churches in the World” by the Catholic Reporter.  The Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption is a beautifully ornate example of Gothic Revival architecture.  You will enjoy a drive through beautiful Eden Park, stopping briefly at the Eden Park overlook for photos and facilities, then up to Mt. Adams, often referred to as a mini San Francisco.  Next on to downtown Cincinnati, to view Fountain Square (the heart of downtown), P & G corporate headquarters (learn the unique story of how Ivory soap was made), the Taft Museum, view the deceptive Mural of Cincinnatus, and the Cincinnati Art Museum and Music Hall!  Lunch is on your own today. After lunch, we will go to the Creation Museum to explore the state-of-the-art 75,000 square foot museum that brings the pages of the Bible to life, casting its characters and animals in dynamic form and placing them in familiar settings in 140 exhibits.  Adam and Eve live in the Garden of Eden.  Children play near Eden’s Rivers.  The serpent coils cunningly in the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Come join us as the museum brings the pages of the Bible to life!   (B, D)
