Day 1:  Our fall adventure begins today as we board our motorcoach & head north, enjoying the fall foliage in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland & into Chambersburg, PA. to overnight (D)


Day 2:   Another beautiful day as we travel to our destination for the next 4 nights, West Yarmouth, MA.  We will stop @ the Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory to tour the facility and learn how these kettle cooked chips began a trend in the industry. (B, D)


Day 3:  After breakfast our guide will join us on the Cape Cod Lighthouse Trail, spending the day viewing the Cape’s historic lighthouses including a tour through Cape Cod’s oldest lighthouse, Highland Light, built in 1857.  Hear the fascinating history of the lighthouse and it’s keepers. There will be time for lunch on your own in the quaint seaside town Chatham. Next, visit Captain Bangs Hallett House. Sea Captains, the essence of Cape Cod! Tour through this 1840, the Greek Revival House -  home to two deep-water captains.  Learn of the life and times of the Captains, their families and community. We have to take time to stop @ Cuffy’s of Cape Cod, A Cape Cod shopper’s “Must Stop”!  Known for great prices and high quality, this Cape Cod business offers a vast array of Cape Cod sweatshirts, tee shirts…the perfect souvenir to take home. Day 4:  Our guide joins us again today as we travel into “Cranberry Country” where the country’s largest supply of cranberries are grown.  We will take a bog tour and learn all about the history, harvest and commerce.  Enjoy a cranberry treat & visit the gift shop.  Our next adventure takes us to Newport, Rhode Island to visit Newport Harbor. Take time for lunch in this beautiful sea-side marketplace, filled with shops, attractions and restaurants.  After lunch, we will enter the world of the Vanderbilts, Astors and the wealthiest of gilded age tycoons as we travel Newport’s fabulous Bellevue Avenue, peppered with stunning mansions and gardens.  Take in the rugged beauty of Ten-Mile Ocean Drive featuring magnificent ocean views and historic Fort Adams.  Hear about Newport’s rich yachting history, major winners of the coveted America’s Cup since 1930.  Our next stop will be the Breakers Mansion Tour.  The Breakers is the grandest of Newport’s summer “cottages” and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family’s social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America.  Take a self-guided audio tour through this gilded age home and enjoy the views from this sumptuous estate, perched high on a bluff, overlooking the Atlantic.  Then, step right outside of the Breakers Mansion onto the world famous coastal walkway featuring the natural beauty of Newport’s shore line and the architectural history of the gilded age.  We will dine in Newport this evening. Day 5We depart from scenic Woods Hole Harbor with our coach for the “Storybook Island” of Martha’s Vineyard.  Our tour includes the famous Gingerbread Houses, Island Tabernacle and Antique Carousel of Oak Bluffs, stories and views of well known resident’s homes, time to explore Edgartown filled with its shops, eateries, attractions and extraordinary views of the Atlantic. Tonight, you will enjoy the freshest of seafood complimented by a Cape Cod Lobsterman sharing all the Cape’s age-old lobstering industry. (B, D)


Day 6:  We say goodbye to the Cape today & travel over to Hartford Connecticut to visit the Mark Twain House & Museum (a National Historic Landmark) where American author Samuel Clemens – Mark Twain - and his family lived from 1974 to 1891. He penned some of his most famous classics here, including Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer & A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court.  We will overnight in Hagerstown, MD. Day 7:  We journey home today with our cameras full of happy memories & reminisce about all the adventures we’ve shared.  We will arrive home in the late afternoon. (B)
